Accelerator-based techniques: A multidisciplinary addition to revolutionize forensic science curricula for social justice?

Forensic sciences are a multidisciplinary discipline that should explore the utility of yet unexplored techniques to robustly answer complex forensic questions. One of the techniques that have received limited attention in forensic science curricula is accelerator-based techniques. This commentary briefly describes accelerator-based techniques and its diverse applications in multidisciplinary fields linked to forensic sciences as well as examples of case studies. In conclusion, it is suggested that the fundamental and applied aspects of accelerator-based techniques combined with chemometrics and advanced statistical models be incorporated into modernized and multidisciplinary forensic science curricula.
